Journal of Proteomics is happy to announce the appointment of a new Executive Editor: Ingrid Miller from the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna to cover the field of Animal Proteomics.

The journal will offer a platform for high-quality proteomic papers in the field of animal proteomics, not only limited to rodents (or common model organisms) but now also including larger animals.

The guide to authors have been updated with an appropriate paragraph concerning ethics and animal experiments. The Journal of Proteomics will reject any paper where there is reason to believe that animals have been subjected to unnecessary or avoidable pain or distress.
